Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) is an independent charity at the forefront of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). KSS is a vital part of your communities, your lives and your safety. It costs £16.6M a year to operate this cutting edge, innovative service with 87% of KSS’s total income raised through the incredible generosity of its supporters. KSS bring the emergency room to the scene and deliver life-saving, critical care. They can perform open heart surgery, deliver anaesthetic, and administer life-saving blood transfusions. But with your support, KSS can achieve more. When they arrive on scene, our patients need us to be at our very best. That’s why we’re continuously innovating and striving to improve our treatments and technology. We share our knowledge and expertise, so our impact is felt worldwide. But it’s felt most here in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Every life matters and with your support we can give every patient the best possible chance of survival and recovery. “We are incredibly proud to have been the Kentish Killer’s nominated charity for over 11 years and are delighted to be supporting them once again in 2025” – Francesca Vale, Kent Community Fundraiser

What the Riders Say
I asked for feedback from our club members: all riders without exception praised your organisation, the route (though it hurt), the refreshment stops, the track start on the Brands Hatch Circuit, the sprayed direction signs, the friendliness, and the beers. Like me, all were exhausted at the end but were buzzing – the event lives up to its name!

Superb event! A group of us try and come down every year from Suffolk to do the event and it never disappoints. Great route. Great challenge for early season and great having the start on the race track this year.
Just a quick message to say that the route and organisation were great – really enjoyed the ride and tried to thank as many volunteers as I could on the way round! All of them had a smile and a word of encouragement – amazing!!
Just a quick note to say I thought the whole event was fantastically organised and an absolute triumph. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. My legs are killing me now, but it was worth it!
I took part in the KK and as usual it was a mixture of joy, hate, exhaustion and (ultimately) satisfaction. We hope to see you again next year – please pass on our thanks to all your helpers. The feed stations were excellent – and great fare was to be had.

A quick note to say how much I enjoyed the Kentish Killer. It was really well organised, the route was fantastic, the feed stops terrific, and the atmosphere wonderful. It’s hard to think how it might have been bettered. I’m looking forward to next year!
I’d like to pass on my thanks to you and the team for such a well organised and fantastic event. The volunteers were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, and the food stops organised were superb – exactly what I needed (and many others no doubt!!!).
Congratulations to all at Flamme Rouge. Another cracking event today ! I am now broken, that treble torture of Sundridge, Row Dow and Tinkerpot finished me off. See you next year!!

The Kentish Killer sportive marks the start of the cycling season in South East England – regarded by clubs and riders as one of the UK’s toughest, most demanding sportives. The Kentish Killer is held on back to back weekends with the Hell of the Ashdown (HOTA), another extremely testing sportive. These two events give riders a benchmark on their winter training progress as well as bragging rights for ‘doing the double’ for those brave enough and successful in completing both sportives.
The Kentish Killer 2025 route will follow the original course with riders covering 100km with 1855 metres of climbing taking on a number of well known and feared climbs and cols including Row Dow, Hubbards, Ide, Carters and Sundridge!
As with previous editions of the sportive, our charity partner for 2025 will again be Kent, Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance (KSSAA) – a charity with strong ties to the local community & many cyclists.
